Recurring roots in a 1960s clay sewer — relined, no digging
01 · The problem
The owners had cleared the same sewer four times in two years. Every few months the toilets would gurgle, the shower would slow, and they’d call someone to ram a cable through. It always came back.
02 · What the camera found
The CCTV footage showed a thick mass of tree roots pushing through a cracked joint about 8 metres from the house, with a second smaller intrusion at 14 metres. The clay pipe itself was otherwise sound — perfect for relining.

03 · What we did
We cleared the line with the water jetter, then relined the two affected sections from inside the pipe — no digging up the established garden. The new liner is root-proof and rated for 50+ years.
04 · The outcome
Six months on, the drains run perfectly and the owners haven’t needed a single call-out. The relining cost roughly what two more years of repeat clearing would have.
