Collapsed clay sewer under a driveway — targeted replacement
01 · The problem
Sewage started backing up into the laundry after every heavy rain. The home was a 1920s build with the original clay sewer running under a concrete driveway — the owners were dreading a big dig.
02 · What the camera found
The camera showed a full collapse at 11 metres, right under the driveway. The rest of the line, surprisingly, was in good shape for its age. We located the collapse precisely above ground.

03 · What we did
Rather than replace the whole line, we dug a small targeted pit over the collapsed section only, replaced 1.5 metres of pipe, and reinstated the driveway. The rest of the sewer was left untouched.
04 · The outcome
The driveway was back in use within two days. A full-line replacement quote from another company had been $14,000 — the camera meant we only fixed what was actually broken.

Recurring roots in a 1960s clay sewer — relined, no digging
The owners had cleared the same sewer four times in two years. Every few months the toilets would gurgle, the shower would slow, and they’d call someone to ram a cable through. It always came back.
$3,500–$5,500 (clear, CCTV, and two-section relining)

A flooded side path every time it rained — stormwater cleared and re-graded
Every heavy downpour turned the side path of this 1970s Cronulla home into a creek. The owners had tried surface grates and a plumber’s eel, but the water kept coming back.

A century-old terrace with the original earthenware sewer. A huge street fig on the nature strip had been sending roots under the block for decades. The owners wanted to know their options before committing to anything.
